Raku vase (November 2021)
8" H; White and copper gloss glazes, raku fired and reduced. The gray areas are unglazed. The variability of the raku technique makes it both exciting and frustrating: this piece did not meet my expectations for a deep black on bare areas, or for a clean and neutral white, but that shiny copper sure does look nice.
