In the summer of 2018 I began learning to work with clay. This gallery is a partial catalog, in chronological order, of what I have produced since then.
(Unless otherwise indicated, all pieces were wheel-thrown from a dark-firing stoneware clay and reduction-fired to cone 10 in a gas kiln.)

Bronze/green teapot (June 2021)
6.5" H, 8" L Satin green and bronze. A good functional piece: it's big enough for tea for two or maybe three, has a pleasantly dumpy hobbit-ish shape, the spout nicely matches the handle (which is sturdy and big enough for a good grip), and the lid fits securely A teapot is finicky to make and can take all day, since the moisture content of the various clay components has to be just right for the many operations (trimming, cutting, assembling, etc.).
